Part 3: Tell people what you do!








This is the third in a series of emails with simple tips on improving how you promote yourself and your business. Here is one of my biggest tips TELL PEOPLE WHAT YOU DO!

Telling People what you do!

It may seem a basic - but it astounds me how many people get carried away with the LOOK of their marketing materials, and forget the simple premise of telling people what they do.

Here are a few tips on telling people what you do:

  1. If your company name says what you do - great, (Minuteman Press - could mean many things) if not, use a tag line (for all your business or personal printing).
  2. If using a tag line avoid words like 'solutions' - "Logistic solutions" - What does that even mean; or catch all phrases - "Great deals for our customers" - What deals, for whom?
  3. Be specific - "Road haulage for the timber industry","Ladies Hairdresser" or "Commercial kitchen design and build" say exactly what you do and for whom.

Look at your Marketing materials - do they say what you do and who you do it for? If not, or you are not sure, why not give us a call to see what we can do to make your message resonate better.
